Todas las subastas / Arte Antiguo / Two beautiful antique Indian wooden reliefs

Two beautiful antique Indian wooden reliefs, on a metal base, depicting the divine love between Lord Krishna and his consort Radha. India circa 1900-1920 Left panel (Krishna): Shows Krishna in his iconic, graceful pose (tribhanga—threefold bend) while playing his flute (venu). Right panel (Radha): Depicts Radha, portrayed in an elegant dancing or rhythmic stance, in keeping with the melody of the flute. Style and Origin: These woodcarvings are likely from the 19th or 20th century and originate from India. Such panels were often part of the decoration of wooden temples or ceremonial processional wagons (rathas or temple carts). Finish: The panels show lovely traces of weathered, polychrome (multicolored) paint residues. The paint layers have naturally worn over the centuries, giving the figures a characteristic antique and rustic appearance. Some paint may have been applied later. Dimensions: approximately 33 cm and 33.5 cm high, with a weight of approximately 1550+ grams. Condition: in excellent condition, here and there wear to the paint. Photos form part of the description. These were taken under artificial light; colors may vary. Mood impressions are shown. They are well packed and sent by registered mail. Jiljes, where quality and service come first.
