Todas las subastas / Arte Antiguo / Scythian Bronze Collection of arrowheads -24 pcs.Good condition
A set of twenty-four ancient Scythian bronze arrowheads, dating to approximately 200 BC. The Scythians were masters of mounted archery, and their arrows were a key weapon, striking fear into the ancient world. Each of these arrows was hand-cast and bears the imprint of a great nomadic civilization whose influence stretched from China to the Danube. This collection is more than just a collection of artifacts, but a time capsule reflecting the military history and craft traditions of the Scythian "golden age." Each arrowhead has a rounded socket protruding blades that meet to form a sharp point. The socket was used to attach the wooden shaft of the arrow. Several arrowheads also have serrations. Signs of wear consistent with age include chips and scratches on the edges, blades and sockets. Good condition.Look at many photos for your own impression. Material: Bronze Size : 25-12 mm.- 9-5 mm. Total weight: 42.01 grams. The items were acquired in 2015 in Barcelona, Spain from G.A. as part of a private Spanish collection dating to the 1980s.
