Late Period to Ptolemaic, Ca. 664 - 30 BC. A limestone sculpture depicting a seated feline with front paws extended and hind legs folded beneath the body. The head is held upright with upward-facing ears, prominent cheeks, and a short, rounded snout. The eyes are closed, and the mouth is slightly curved. The animal sits atop an integral rectangular base. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1905,0612.3. Size: 400mm x 160mm; Weight: 13.9kg Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the French art market; Ex. old collection from the 1930s-40s based on the red fabric attached under the statue.
