Fascinating collection of six polished specimens of natural Burmese amber, displaying a wide variety of prehistoric inclusions. The pieces contain several clearly visible arthropods, including a well-preserved ant, a small spider-like arachnid and different winged and wingless insects. Plant fibres, fragments of bark, organic debris and other minute inclusions are also present, creating miniature scenes from an ancient forest ecosystem. Each specimen has a distinctive shape, colour and internal structure, ranging from transparent golden yellow to deeper honey tones. The polished surfaces allow the inclusions to be observed from different angles. Burmese amber originates from the Hukawng Valley in northern Myanmar and dates to the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 99 million years ago. A diverse and visually interesting collection, ideal for collectors of amber, fossils, insects and natural-history specimens. All six pieces are sold together and exactly as shown in the photographs.
