A glazed earthenware jug from Myanmar (18th century, about 12.5 cm tall) and 8.5 cm in diameter is a rare collectible with a handle!!! Very, very rare!!! Often these are archaeological finds from historic pottery centers such as Bagan or Inwa (Ava), where traditionally fired, glazed ceramic vessels were made for everyday use, for storing liquids, or as grave offerings. Typical features of this era Material: Local, often porous clay. Glaze: Usually a dark, earth-toned lead glaze (often deep brown, olive green or amber), which over the centuries may be heavily weathered or craquelé. Use: Small vessels of this kind were often used for aromatic oils, water, or spices. Authenticity assessment & expertise: Since ancient ceramics from this region are in high demand and accordingly frequently replicated, a professional assessment is important to distinguish originals from historical reproductions or tourist mementos. Condition is original green glazed inside there is still a clay ball enclosed, audible when moved Burma, very likely 18th century, possibly much earlier!?!
