Terracotta bead necklace – Ancient Egypt Elegant collar composed of numerous terracotta beads, from ancient Egyptian tradition, currently strung forming a long strand of approximately 1 meter in length. The beads, small in size —approximately 4 mm— feature a discoidal and cylindrical shape, with slight irregularities inherent to their handmade crafting. They preserve an attractive range of natural hues, from ochres and sands to browns and darker earthy tones, creating an especially harmonious ensemble. The matte surface, the color variations, and the small signs of wear contribute to the piece a marked archaeological presence. The considerable length of the necklace allows the rhythmic succession of the beads to be appreciated and confers a striking decorative effect, both when exhibited in a vitrine and when displayed on a support. Cultural origin: Ancient Egypt Material: Terracotta Total length: approx. 100 cm Diameter of the beads: approx. 4 mm Conservation status: in keeping with its age, with wear, deposits and tonal variations typical of the material. A piece of intimate and evocative character, representative of the tradition of personal ornamentation in ancient Egypt, especially attractive for a collection of Mediterranean and Near Eastern archaeology.
