Zeiss Ikon Kolibri Analogue camera

Up for auction: a splendid, unusual and historically valuable collector's subminiature camera — the Zeiss Ikon Kolibri, produced in Germany by Zeiss Ikon in Stuttgart between 1930 and 1935. The lot is presented in good overall condition, mechanically functional, and is complete with its original optical–mechanical block with retracting tube. Optics: The camera carries the original Zeiss Ikon Novar-Anastigmat 1:4.5 f=50mm lens. The lenses are structurally intact and free of scratches or traces of mold; only a normal, widespread and light vintage patina is present due to the decades elapsed, entirely typical for a piece of this age. Mechanical: The lot has been tested and is mechanically functional. The mechanical Telma central shutter responds correctly to manual controls, firing regularly. Aesthetics: Good overall vintage condition, as documented by the photographs. The solid, sturdy metal construction retains its original black textured synthetic leather covering, showing the classic and normal signs of surface wear and a splendid historical patina. Note some circumscribed physiological repainting on the black lacquer of the barrel and on the front of the shutter. The upper folding cup-shaped optical viewfinder opens correctly.
