“Von mancherlei Anmut” is a large-format contemporary mixed-media work by the artist Yannis Leon Bührle, created in 2026. On a multi-layered lavender-toned canvas, classical figurative drawings, abstract color gestures, and fragmentary collage elements come together. Fine female nudes and dynamic horse drawings contrast with expressive, partly graffiti-like markings, photographic cutouts, and typographic fragments. The composition moves between traditional drawing and an intuitive, experimental handling of color and material. Small, deliberately fragmentary text excerpts such as “fragile,” “mythical-” and “to discover certain beauties” broaden the visual language. A multi-layered dialogue emerges between corporeality, movement, perception, and different notions of beauty. The work allows for different interpretations and invites the viewer to gradually discover the numerous details and visual relationships.
