About the artist: Yamila Velázquez (Las Tunas, Cuba, 1993) is a contemporary artist who uses digital intelligence tools, currently living and working in Alicante, Spain. Owner and partner of a company dedicated to the sale, representation, and development of artists and artworks, Velázquez combines her business vision with a deep artistic sensibility. This young Cuban talent has established herself in the field of digital art, using contemporary media to explore themes related to nature, landscape, and the intimate relationship between woman and her surroundings. Her works address with nuance and strong visual impact themes such as beauty, love, sensuality, and feminine delicacy, always framed in enveloping, romantic, and refined atmospheres. With a vibrant and expressive aesthetic, Yamila Velázquez manages to fuse classical influences with a modern language, resulting in versatile, fresh, and deeply evocative works. The pictorial texture of her images, the masterful use of color, and the emotionally balanced composition position her work as a current artistic proposal of high aesthetic value. Shipping and presentation: The work will be carefully packaged by a professional and shipped in a rigid cardboard tube, internally protected with bubble wrap to guarantee its integrity during transport. Shipments are made through reliable courier companies such as UPS, FedEx, or Correos España, depending on the destination and the most convenient option in each case. The estimated delivery time is 7 to 10 days, though it may vary depending on the destination country. This work is a visual essay on cultural longevity and archetypal resilience, merging two pillars of pop culture, Mario and Mickey Mouse, in an aesthetic of deep philosophical significance. The artist applies the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi, where fractures are filled with gold lacquer, to redefine these heroes. The surface of both characters is deliberately cracked: Mario’s craquelure reveals gold fissures that traverse his blue overalls and red cap, while Mickey Mouse becomes a porcelain and gold figure, with the repair lines engraved in each curve. The cracks are not defects, but testimony and honor of their long and often challenging history in the collective imagination. In a setting of Baroque opulence — reinforced by the ornate frame and gilded reliefs — the piece underscores the idea that true royalty and value do not reside in immaculate perfection, but in the ability to endure time and battles. It is a powerful commentary on how the memory of their past grants them a strengthened identity and a beauty that is both tragic and, at the same time, triumphant.
