XL CHONDRITE of ENSTATITE!!! Coming from the orbit of...

Also known as “Enstatite chondrites (E).” Excluding finds from Antarctica and the NWA, only twenty-four have been found. They owe their name to the large amount of enstatite present. The iron it contains is not found forming oxides, but sulfides or as metal. This would indicate that its formation occurred in an oxygen-poor region, probably inside Mercury’s orbit. The Al Haggounia 001 meteorite has finally been classified, after much controversy, as an melted enstatite chondrite EL 4-7. The piece we are auctioning in this lot is a complete piece of excellent size for a good collection. Due to its age, Al Haggounia 001 is considered by many as a “fossil meteorite.” On the other hand, chondrites are among the oldest materials in the Solar System, with an estimated formation age of more than 4.5 billion years. An excellent opportunity to add this wonder of the universe to your collection.
