Wucai Figural Story Oval Dish - Porcelain - China - Qing Dynasty (1644-1911)

Description A finely potted oval dish with gently curved rim, vividly enamelled in the classic five-colour wucai palette. The scene depicts an elegant narrative set within a lush garden pavilion: a scholarly couple stand together on a patterned stone bridge beneath flowering prunus and banana foliage, while two attendant ladies hold a fan and offerings within the pavilion, all beneath drifting clouds and a glowing sun. The painting is lively and detailed, with rich, saturated hues of iron-red, emerald green, aubergine, and golden-yellow — bordered by a repeating floral coin motif in terracotta and cream. A charming and decorative piece in the traditional narrative style. Dimensions: Maximum width: approx. 34.5*24.6cm; Condition Minor glaze pops along the rim; Gentle, even enamel wear and fading consistent with age and normal use; No cracks, chips, hairlines or restoration; structurally sound and intact.
