World. Collection of coins 1867-1914 (No reserve price)

Historical box « Triple Entente & Triple Alliance » – 7 silver coins AR– 1867/1920 Beautiful historical numismatic box gathering 7 authentic silver coins, representing the main European powers linked to the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente, two diplomatic and military blocs whose opposition preceded the First World War. The box is accompanied by its bilingual historical presentation in French/Dutch, which places each coin in its context. Box composition: Country Coin Period indicated Silver Weight Austria-Hungary 1 Corona 1892–1907 .835 5 g Russia 20 Kopecks 1867–1914 .500 3.6 g Germany 1 Mark 1891–1916 .900 5.56 g Serbia 1 Dinar 1904–1915 .835 5 g France 1 Franc 1898–1920 .835 5 g Italy 2 Lire 1881–1899 .835 10 g United Kingdom 3 Pence 1911–1920 .925 1.41 g Cumulative nominal weight: about 41.57 g, including about 29.3 g of theoretical fine silver based on the fineness indicated in the box. The set brings together in a single box coins from seven major European states at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th: Austria-Hungary, the Russian Empire, the German Empire, the Kingdom of Serbia, the French Republic, the Kingdom of Italy, and the United Kingdom. The selection makes perfect sense in its historical context: rising European tensions, formation of the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente, followed by the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. The coins show signs of use and patina compatible with their age. They are sold in their presentation box as shown in the photograph. Condition: original A particularly interesting ensemble for a collector of silver coins, European coins, or historical memorabilia related to the First World War.
