Wooden tribal figure, African school, 20th century

Descriptio Carved wood. Measures 85 x 20 x 12 cm. Anthropomorphic sculpture with a pronounced verticality, constructed using elongated forms and a highly reduced anatomical structure, featuring a small head, tubular neck, and limbs rendered in an almost abstract manner. The piece stands out for its powerful formal synthesis and the balance between emptiness and mass, characteristics that intensify its ritual and totemic dimension. The bare surface, the natural patina of the wood, and the severity of its silhouette place it within the African sculptural tradition of a ceremonial nature. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed. The absence of any mention of restorations does not guarantee that none exist. You may request additional information before placing a bid. This does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
