Pair of silver Weimer Co. hearing aids — United States, 1920s. Rare and remarkable pair of old Weimer Co. hearing aids, made in the United States in the 1920s. These objects provide an interesting historical testimony to the evolution of hearing technologies and the history of medicine in the early 20th century. At that time, hearing aids were often manufactured in small batches or to order. Their compact design represented a significant technological advancement and allowed for more discreet use than earlier devices. Both devices feature a beautiful silver finish as well as the manufacturer's raised logo.
