Wedgwood - Centrepiece - Jasperware - Dancing Hours green saved

Wedgwood Jasperware “Dancing Hours” sage green – Large neoclassical English bowl – 1954 Timeless neoclassical elegance for this refined Wedgwood Jasperware “Dancing Hours” centerpiece in the rare and sought-after sage green shade, one of the most iconic and sophisticated tones produced by the historic English manufactory. The famous white bas-relief frieze depicting the “Dancing Hours,” attributed to the great sculptor and designer John Flaxman Jr. (1755-1826), harmoniously surrounds the entire surface with graceful, classically elegant female figures inspired by ancient Greek art and the archaeological taste of European Neoclassicism. The visual effect is magnificent: the contrast between the matte sage green and the whiteness of the reliefs adds depth, balance, and extreme decorative elegance. The figures appear almost suspended in time, with flowing drapery and delicate movements that recall ancient friezes and Pompeian decorations so cherished on the Grand Tour. A piece produced in 1954, as indicated by the marks on the base: Wedgwood, Made in England, and the original dating. An authentic piece from the historic English production, testimony to the absolute quality of the renowned British manufactory. Important decorative dimensions: approximately 26 cm in diameter, about 10.5 cm in height. Excellent and absolutely rare to find condition: no cracks, no breaks, no chips or restorations. The surface still preserves its natural patina of time, which enhances its authenticity and collectible charm; it could simply be cleaned according to the future owner's taste. Extraordinary as a neoclassical centerpiece, decorative bowl, or scenographic element for refined interiors. Perfect in classical, English, Regency, Grand Tour settings, but unexpectedly elegant even in modern minimalist contexts where the contrast between clean lines and classical decoration creates a museum-like effect of great impact. Ideal on a sideboard, coffee tables, substantial bookcases, or prestigious professional studios. A high-quality decorative and collectible item, symbolizing English elegance of the 20th century and the Wedgwood tradition. The photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packing entrusted to industry professionals.
