A0000006362 Article: WATERMAN'S IDEAL fountain pen, blue/black marbled cellulose body with pearlescent veining, clip and details in gold metal, double ring on the cap and lever filler mechanism (lever filler) Length: 12.7 cm Diameter: 1.1 cm Nib: EF (extra fine), 14-carat gold marked "WATERMAN'S IDEAL 14 KT CANADA" Period: 1940s (Canadian-made Waterman's) Materials: Marbled blue and black cellulose, 14 kt gold nib, clip and cap rings in gold-plated metal with the inscription "WATERMAN'S" engraved on the clip, gold lever filler, ebonite feed Condition: Good overall condition for its age. The cellulose retains shine and the blue veining is clearly visible, with signs of use, micro-scratches and light superficial lines distributed along the cap and body, especially visible in close-up. The gold plating on the clip and lever shows wear and loss of plating in the contact areas, with some patina; the two cap rings are complete. The gold nib appears intact and well aligned, with patina and darkening in the feed area typical of use. Vintage piece not serviced in workshop: the seal of the lever-filler system is not guaranteed; a check of the inner sac before using with ink is recommended Accessories: Only the loose piece; no box or papers visible in the photos
