D.B. – Brutalist Light Sculpture A unique piece of functional art combining raw concrete, exposed steel and warm illumination. The artwork is built around the contrast between the heavy, monolithic character of concrete and the delicate glow of the exposed filament bulb. Part of the concrete structure is intentionally fragmented, revealing the steel reinforcement normally hidden inside the material. This exposed construction becomes an essential part of the composition rather than something to be concealed. The irregular cavities, imperfections and raw surfaces are deliberately preserved, giving the piece its strong brutalist and industrial character. When illuminated, the warm light interacts with the rough interior of the concrete, creating changing shadows and emphasizing its texture and depth. The exposed steel elements are lacquered for protection, while the concrete surface has been treated with a water-repellent protective finish. Conceived as functional art, the piece exists simultaneously as a sculptural object and a source of light. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and can become a distinctive accent in a contemporary interior, minimalist terrace, garden, loft or other architectural setting. The artwork bears the artist’s original stamp, permanently impressed directly into the piece, reinforcing its authenticity and individual character. Height: 44 cm Materials: Concrete, steel and electrical components Finish: Water-repellent protected concrete and lacquered steel Lighting: Warm decorative filament bulb My artworks are held in private collections across Europe.
