A large iridescent full opal from the famous Australian sites and weighing around 10 carats has found its place in the center of this piece of jewelry - and appears in the shape of an iridescent heart. Like a kaleidoscope, it changes the appearance of its gently iridescent play of colors with every movement. Even the ancient author Pliny described the opal at the turn of the millennium as the gods' tears of joy turned into precious stones. Small cultured pearls are framed around the heart. They are held in place by a 14-karat gold setting, which is as restrained as possible and allows the delicate play of colors of the large opal and the delicate pearls to take precedence. What is particularly beautiful about this piece of jewelry is that it can be worn in many different ways: a pin on the back turns it into a brooch, but a hinged eyelet attached behind the pin also makes it possible to hold a pearl necklace together with the piece of jewelry or to thread a gold chain. The piece of jewelry was probably created in the USA around 1985. It is a romantic gift of love that came to us from southern Germany.
