VIMOPAR - RED-KOPF

VMP is a Spanish visual artist, PhD in Art and Research, whose practice combines contemporary figurative painting, animation, and audiovisual experimentation. His career is backed by various awards and artistic selections. Laid out on canvas using mixed media, the work blends acrylic, sanding with different grits, glazes with Liquin, and final oil, achieving a surface rich in nuances with a solid, stable painterly finish. Red-Kopf represents a recurring character in the artist’s animated films: a red human figure contemplating the Ace of Spades, a symbol of the world of ideas, intelligence, and creation. The piece shows the moment just before the invocation of an idea. The card appears as an object of concentration and mental power, while the character establishes a silent relationship with it, between contemplation and the desire to make visible what still belongs to thought. The red accentuates the figure’s presence and brings energy, tension, and vitality to the composition. The piece is part of a limited-availability series, especially oriented toward collectors. Only the rolled canvas is shipped, carefully protected with bubble wrap and rigid cardboard; the work measures 100 x 70 cm, but there is extra canvas to ensure proper handling.
