VMP is a Spanish visual artist, a doctor in Art and Research, whose practice combines contemporary figurative painting, animation, and audiovisual experimentation. Made with mixed media on canvas, the work combines acrylic, sanding with different grits, glazes with Liquin, and final oil, achieving a surface rich in nuances and a solid, stable painterly finish. The work is painted on high-quality linen. Festina Lente represents a calm person in a world in flames. The work expresses the calm of everyday life in the face of the catastrophic vision of the world that is continually imposed on us. The title, which means “hurry slowly,” proposes a serene and conscious attitude: to keep living, observing, and finding balance even amidst uncertainty. The piece is part of a limited availability series, especially oriented toward collectors. Only the canvas is shipped, carefully protected with bubble wrap and rigid cardboard; the work measures 140 x 94 cm, but there is extra canvas to ensure proper handling.
