Vicomte de SAINT-PRIEST (Emmanuel Louis Marie GUIGNARD), General and Ambassador. He was one of the leaders of the Legitimist party (1789 - 1881). Letter A.S. "Le Vicomte de ST PRIEST." Paris May 5, 1821. 1p in-4°. "It is with deep gratitude, Monsieur le Comte, that I have read and reread the eulogy I owe you, of a father whose memory will always be so dear to me and whose virtues could not find a more worthy interpreter. It is for those who have followed the same career, who have been guided by the same sentiments, to praise courage, honor and fidelity, and when the heart of a son sees only justice, he appreciates no less the eloquence and talent that know how to exist the interest of all, for the one he regrets..." - (His father François Emmanuel de GUIGNARD Comte de ST PRIEST, Minister and Ambassador, died in Lyon on February 26, 1821)
