Impressive specimen of Citrine Quartz druse with intensely colored crystals from Brazil. This magnificent specimen presents itself as a Citrine Quartz druse, a variety of quartz (SiO₂) characterized by its distinctive coloration ranging from pale yellow to intense orange-brown, as in this case, known as 'Madeira' for its resemblance to the dessert wine. The formation is polycrystalline, with countless small perfectly developed hexagonal terminations that coat a curved surface, typical of crystallization inside geodes or rocky cavities. Visual analysis reveals a homogeneous and deep coloration, a bright orange-gold, indicative of a significant presence of ferric impurity (Fe³⁺) in the crystal lattice, further intensified by a natural or post-crystallization thermal irradiation process. The transparency of the individual crystals is high, allowing light to refract spectacularly, creating a sparkling effect across the entire surface. Micro-inclusions, if present, are minimal and do not compromise the overall luster. The underlying rock matrix is well consolidated and serves as a natural base for the druse. The origin of this specimen is Brazil, a country renowned for producing high-quality citrine quartz. Brazilian citrines typically form in hydrothermal environments, within cavities of igneous volcanic rocks, particularly basalt. The slow crystallization from saturated solutions allowed the development of this compact and finely structured druse, with an even distribution of crystals on the exposed surface. Aesthetically, the piece stands out for its exceptional color saturation and the high density of well-formed crystals. The druse surface is fully covered with glossy crystal tips that catch and reflect light in a fascinating way. The integrity of the formation and the purity of the color make it a visually stunning specimen, ideal for enriching any mineral collection or as a high-end decorative piece. The state of preservation is excellent, with no evident signs of damage or significant alteration. The crystals are intact and well adhered to the matrix. The rear surface bears the natural host rock, clean and stable. The specimen does not require additional support for display, as it can be stably placed on a flat surface. The collectible value of this druse is considerable, thanks to the combination of substantial size, intense and natural coloration (although the color 'Madeira' is often associated with thermal treatment, it is the intensity that defines it, and crystals with such saturation are highly sought after) and the integrity of the formation. Specimens of this quality, with such uniformity and brilliance of the crystals, are highly valued in the collectible mineral market, standing out from more common pieces for their aesthetic and gemological superiority.
