Vatican. 2 Euro 2025 "Anno Santo" (No reserve price)

On Christmas Eve night, with the solemn gesture of opening the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica, Pope Francis officially inaugurated the Jubilee of 2025, a path of grace that envelops the whole world in the light of hope. The 2 euro commemorative coin of the Holy Year MMXXV, the work of artist Daniela Longo, shows precisely the Pope in the act of flinging open with his hands the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica. It is an image that marks the beginning of a special year for the entire world, an invitation for everyone to cross the threshold of faith and hope. The image of the Pontiff, in front of the Holy Door, rises as an iconic representation of the shepherd who leads his people to reconciliation with God, and to his merciful embrace. Pope Francis wanted a Jubilee that would be a symbol of an “open door,” of a community that welcomes unreservedly, especially those who feel distant from the Church, those who live in pain, or those on the margins of society.
