The coins are in perfect condition in their original folders and each coin has its own serial number (see photos). Sede Vacante 2025 This coin commemorates the Sede Vacante, the period between the end of a pontificate and the election of a new pope. At the center is the coat of arms of Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, who during the interregnum was responsible for managing the possessions of the Holy See. Anno Santo, On Christmas Eve, Pope Francis officially opened the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica with the ceremonial gesture of opening the Holy Door, inaugurating the Jubilee Year 2025: a journey of grace that surrounds the whole world with the light of hope. The €2 commemorative coin for the Holy Year MMXXV shows the pope at the moment he personally opens the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica. The image of the pope before the Holy Door grows into an iconic depiction of the shepherd leading his people to reconciliation with God and to His merciful embrace. 550th anniversary of the birth of Michelangelo. Vatican City presents the €2 commemorative coin in honor of the great genius of the Italian Renaissance, Michelangelo Buonarroti, on the occasion of his 550th birthday. On the reverse side, the dome of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican is depicted: an architectural masterpiece by Michelangelo and one of the most important symbols of Christianity. Below it is a reference to the structure of the Sistine Chapel’s vaulted ceiling, which he masterfully adorned with frescoes. On the left is the artist’s signature, “Michelangelo,” taken from original documents.
