Two complete Vatican coin proof sets from the Pontificate of Pope John Paul II, in official presentation folders with a gold-colored papal emblem. Included are: 1987 – Anno IX: Edition for the Marian Year 1987–1988, designed by Angelo Canevari. In white original folder with blue coin insert. 1989 – Anno XI: Edition for the Apostolic Letter “Christifideles Laici,” on the vocation and mission of the laity in the Church and in the world. Design by Enrico Manfrini. In white original folder with green coin insert. Each set comprises seven coins in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 Lire, totaling 14 coins. The two 1,000-Lire coins are, according to the edition specifications, each made of 835 silver, weighing 14.6 g and with a diameter of 31.4 mm. Together they contain about 24.38 g of fine silver. The coins are housed in transparent holders and show some patina and toning, especially the silver coins. The printed edition information is present. Everything is depicted, see scans. We generally ship by registered mail/delivery with tracking or DHL parcel. The Deutsche Post letter option is no longer available. Any duties or import taxes that may apply to export shipments are borne by the buyer.
