Pair of Griffon model candlesticks in a rare finish of matte and clear transparent glass. The base consists of four elegant, back-to-back placed wings with griffin heads that transition into a geometric, stepped Art Deco shaft. These candlesticks are listed in the legendary Luxval catalog of 1935 and are a design by Charles Graffart and Rene Delvenne. (see last photo). Height 27 cm The candlesticks are in good vintage condition. At the base, light flea-bites (see photos). The candlesticks have been photographed from all four sides. The photos are an integral part of the description. Air bubbles, glass threads, or traces of the mold are typical for the production process of pressed glass in that era. These are not defects but rather proof that this object dates from the 1930s. The candlesticks are packaged very carefully and shipped with track & trace.
