All automatic watches require winding from the crown on first use; relying on wrist movement alone is not sufficient to maintain the required power reserve. RULE FOR ALL WATCHES WITH DATE FUNCTION To avoid possible damage to the movement, please do not set the date with the crown when the time is between 21:00 and 03:00. It is advisable to set the date with the crown when the time is between 03:05 and 20:55. (Some models have a screw-down crown; for settings you need to gently unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Remember to securely screw the crown back after modifying the desired settings.)
