Amazing tree scene. The contrast of the red tree against the gold background is simply breathtaking. Technique: Original Japanese woodblock print. Title: Tree Scene 160A Artist: Hajime Namiki (1947-) 並木一 Limited: 35/200, in 2024 Japan Hand signed in pencil with artist’s read seal. Conditions: excellent conditions, minor defects on the margin. Dimensions: Paper size: 295 x 370 mm Image size: 228 x 298 mm A Contemporary Master - Hajime Namiki born in 1947 in Tokyo. Although originally trained as sculptor, he began making woodblock prints in 1978. He carves his own blocks and prints each work using traditional methods. These beautiful prints are printed on a gold or silver leaf laid over Torinoko paper. Namiki also use oil-based paints rather than the more common use of watercolours. Born : 1947 Tokyo , JAPAN Education : Studied under Ogura Mozan and Kato Yaso.
