The cutwork embroidery is famous for its fineness, lightness, and transparency: an art handed down from generation to generation, it requires precision, patience, and extraordinary manual skill. The technique consists of transferring onto the fabric a design created specifically to achieve, in the end, a wide transparency that looks like lace. The entire design is outlined with a double or triple row of stitches to give support to the fabric so it does not fray, then the joining bars between the various motifs are created.
