This beautiful Tibet rug is hand-knotted with the finest, unbleached wool from sheep in the high Tibet region. This wool is naturally extra greasy due to the cold temperatures (it acts as insulation for the sheep). When this wool is used in carpets it not only provides a beautiful, extra shine but also serves as a natural protective layer. Wool of better quality is (almost) unavailable. Naturally, color differences are visible between batches, because the wool is not bleached before the first dye bath. This gives the rug an authentic look and contributes to the character of this rug that is full of stories.
