Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton (attribuzione da punzoni)...

Elegant English coffee pot from the Victorian era, attributable to the Birmingham-based manufactory Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton, active from the second half of the 19th century to the early decades of the 20th century. The object features a refined, slender body resting on a circular base, adorned with elaborate decorative ornamentation including floral motifs, vegetal scrolls, festoons and geometric medallions. The work alternates polished surfaces with raised decorative details, creating a pleasing contrast that enhances the overall elegance. Particularly characteristic are the long curved spout, the angular-line handle with small inserts presumably made of bone, and the hinged lid, topped by a refined ornamental knop. On the base there are several maker’s marks, including the monogram attributable to Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton, a documented English producer of silver-plated tableware. The coffee pot represents an interesting example of English silver-plated production with Victorian taste, characterized by careful attention to the decorative setting and to the balance of proportions.
