The Angel with the Key to the Bottomless Pit, from: The Apocalypse

Plate XIV from: The Apocalypse. A fine, strong and crisp impression from the first Latin edition of 1498, without text. As the final plate of the series, this woodcut was always printed without text verso, since the accompanying text appears on the verso of the preceding sheet. Trimmed to the borderline. – Some staining, predominantly visible verso. A restored tear at the upper left edge. Otherwise in very good condition. Rarely seen in such fine printing quality. | 1471 - Nuremberg - 1528 | 15.-18. Jahrhundert | Druckgrafik | Nummer: 26x1644
