[TCHEREPNIN ALEXANDER] LEE HSIENG MING: Alexander Tcherepnin (1899-1977) Russian-born American Composer and Pianist, and his wife Lee Hsieng Ming, Chinese Pianist. A good A.L.S., `Somsme Tcherepnine´, two pages, written to first and fourth page, 4to, Hagengut Mitterbach, 22nd August, n.y., [1937?], to Herr Tischer, in English. Lee Hsieng Ming responds to her correspondent´s letter on behalf of her husband Alexander Tcherepnin, stating `In going through husband letters, I find yours unanswered! Please forgive him!... We are here until the middle of September when we go back to Paris. Husband very busy writing a ballet for New York. His opera ''Die Heirat'' is supposed to be given some time in Essen?´ further referring to the future and war `Our future plans are vague as the war in our beloved countries may keep us from going back next spring as we had planned.´ With two binder holes to the left border not affecting the text or signature. Very small age wear, otherwise G Tcherepnin´s work Die Heirat (''The Marriage'') is an opera in two scenes after a a comedy by Gogol.
