Antique desk lamp – Brass – Art Nouveau / Belle Époque – France, c. 1920 Elegant antique brass desk lamp, probably of French origin and dated approximately to 1920. The piece features a characteristic curved arm shaped like a swan neck, a metal shade with a flared profile, and a decorative base with lobed and fluted forms. The design blends functionality and ornamentation, with clear references to the decorative language of the Belle Époque and late Art Nouveau. Notable are the elegant curvature of the arm, the turned stem, and the ornamental base, which confer the lamp a striking sculptural presence. The brass retains an aged golden patina, with tonal variations, small marks, surface oxidation, and signs of use in keeping with the piece’s age. These features contribute to its authentic vintage look. The lamp retains its old electrical system and the switch located on the base. It is recommended that the electrical installation be checked by a qualified professional before regular use, especially due to the age of the wiring. A decorative piece with great character, suitable for both an antique lighting collection and a classic, vintage, Art Nouveau or eclectic interior.
