Key 'Mongolian Tent' 5000 Yuan in PMG 35 (t) CHINA--PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC. People's Bank of China. 5000 Yuan, 1951. P-857Ba. S/M#C282. PMG Choice Very Fine 35. Mongolian Tent. A very scarce design issued predominantly in the Northern Regions of China, this note saw little circulation compared to other notes from the bank. A camel and tents are pictured on the right in the vignette. The reverse features an all blue design with Uighur script at centre, flanked by 5000 Yuan obligations on each side that are surrounded by guilloche protectors. One of the key notes of the series, offered in Choice Very Fine condition, which will be heavily contested at the time of the live sale. PMG Comments "Repaired." Estimate: $40,000 - $60,000.
