Wondrous Kweilin Mint Anniversary Medal (t) CHINA. First Anniversary of the Kweilin Mint Silvered Copper Medal, Year 28 (1939). Kweilin Mint. PCGS MS-62. L&M-1002; KMX-M821 corr. (silver). Diameter: 31mm. An already SCARCE type that is exceptionally difficult to encounter in elevated, problem-free states of preservation, as is the case here. Additionally, the silvering is nearly fully intact, making this a premium-quality representative of the type. Intriguingly, seemingly the entire output of this medallic issue appears to have been overstruck upon Hunan 20 Cash pieces from roughly two decades prior, with various aspects of the undertype noted on some examples.
