Sustainable Art Deco Style Diamond Necklace, From Our Workshop

Cool elegance - this seems to have been the catchword of the jewellery designers of the Art Deco, if you take a look at the catalogues and fashion magazines of that time. Cool and crystalline, in the white light of diamonds, mostly in geometrically elongated form, reminiscent of icicles: this is how we know the pendants and earrings of this era. In the design of the present piece of jewellery, we have taken our cue from these white jewels of the 1920s down to the last detail. The teardrop-shaped pendant made of 18-karat white gold is firmly mounted on a delicate chain, which can be worn in two lengths thanks to an additional eyelet. A brilliant cut diamond sparkles at the center of the pendant, surrounded by meticulously pierced lace-like patterns. The pendant is movably mounted beneath another, smaller diamond in a milgrain setting, allowing it to nestle softly against the décolleté. We used sustainable materials to create the necklace: The high karat white gold was sourced from older jewellery, and likewise the diamonds are vintage stones that have been used before. In fact, this opens up yet another parallel to Art Deco jewels, as in antique jewellery from the 1920s we often find older diamonds that were quite obviously put to secondary use. With the advent of the modern forms of Art Deco, the jewellery fashion of the time had fundamentally changed, and many ladies had the diamonds from their jewellery that had become unfashionable included in new ones: An idea that we liked very much, especially from the point of view of sustainability.
