Stunning Slice of Petrified Wood on a custom stand...

Magnificent Large Petrified Wood Slice on a Custom Stand A magnificent, large slice of petrified wood, beautifully presented on a custom-made stand. This remarkable natural specimen showcases the extraordinary beauty of ancient wood transformed over millions of years. Petrified wood forms when fallen trees become buried beneath layers of sediment, such as soil or sand, often as a result of natural events. Over time, groundwater rich in dissolved minerals permeates the wood, gradually replacing its organic material while preserving its original structure. The captivating colours of petrified wood are determined by the minerals present during this transformation, with each mineral contributing its own distinctive hues. Remarkably, the process of petrification preserves the intricate details of the original tree, including its bark, knots, and annual growth rings.
