Todas las subastas / Varios / Statue, Modernistisch keramisch paardenbeeld - 32.5 cm - Ceramic
An expressive and sculptural horse figure, executed in ceramic with a deep anthracite glaze that is slightly glossy. The horse is designed in a distinctly modernist style, with powerful geometric volumes, stylized anatomy and a prominently raised foreleg. The broad chest, angular legs and rhythmically modeled mane give the sculpture a monumental presence. What makes it special is the interplay between the rounded forms of the body and the tight, almost architectural lines of the legs and head. Depending on the light, the dark glaze reveals subtle nuances of black, gray and bronze reflections. The piece is interesting from every viewing angle and excels as a freestanding sculpture on a sideboard, pedestal or in a modern interior.
