"No other green attains the splendor of the rich and distinguished emerald. Impossible to compare a green glass with this stone, absurd to name even the sea or a colourful parrot emerald." With these exuberant words, a popular non-fiction book of the first half of the 20th century describes the emerald. The name of the emerald probably comes from the Latin "smaragdus", which in turn is taken from the Greek "smaragdos" and in German the emerald is called "Smaragd". The emerald was first mined around 1300 BC in Egypt, which dominated the emerald trade in the Mediterranean for a long time. Only with the conquest of South America by the Spaniards was their trading position broken, as there were also rich emerald deposits there. This necklace shows the beauty of this gemstone. Because it gathers 128 emeralds in one impressive row. The gemstones with a total weight of about 83.00 carats show wonderful shades of vivid green. They are individually bored and strung in the course. A quality clasp made of high-carat white gold with two more emeralds accompanied by small diamonds holds the necklace securely on the neck. In the colour of hope, the emeralds now shine in an elegant row, staggered in size. Dating from around 1980, this necklace is in excellent condition and is the perfect jewellery for all ladies with a favourite colour of green. An independent certificate has confirmed the quality of the materials and comes with the jewel.
