Vintage Sony TC-124CS Stereo Cassette-Corder Portable Tape Recorder Pack 1971 Up for sale is a rare and highly collectible Sony TC-124 CS "Cassette-Corder" portable stereo tape recorder, manufactured in Japan around 1969-1971. This is the complete "CS" (Stereo Pack) edition, a true milestone in Sony's vintage audio history. Known for its rugged build and modular design, it features an integrated stereo amplifier, a built-in mono speaker for quick playback, and dedicated controls for volume, tone, and balance. Mechanics: Fully tested and operational. (tested on battery because the AC cable needs a modification with earth in Belgium) The playback, fast-forward, rewind, and record functions are all working. The internal drive belts have not been checked, so keep in mind that you may need to bring this unit to a technician if you want to restore/refurbish it as new. Audio: Crisp and clear sound through both the internal speaker and the external SS-12 speakers. Knobs and dials operate smoothly. The sound is powerful and warm .... Cosmetics: In beautiful vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with its age, needs cleaning because it hasn't been used for years, dusty and dirty but in very nice condition, a small portion of the zip of the bag needs to be sewn up. Please refer to the photos for exact cosmetic details. Battery area is clean, never leakage inside .
