A rose is a rose is a rose… When Gertrude Stein wrote her famous poem Sacred Emily in 1913, invoking the image of the rose in verse, she was looking back on a long tradition of nature representation in the arts, in which the rose in particular is richly imbued with meaning. Already in the 19th century, botanical motifs of leaves and flowers were among the most favoured themes in art. They were seen as symbols of the forces of nature, of eternal growth and decay. And the rose held a special place within them, as it has always been regarded as a symbol of love. The ring presented here, crafted in our workshop, features a continuous relief of rose blossoms and leaves. Its design is inspired by wedding bands from the turn of the century. It is made of solid, elegantly shimmering platinum and is 2.4 millimetres wide. It has rounded edges and a court-shaped interior, which enhances its comfort when worn.
