ROAD TO SPACE With Road to Space, SKE imagines an improbable meeting between several icons of popular culture and luxury: Snoopy, space conquest, the Omega watchmaking, and the Porsche universe. At the center of the composition, Snoopy becomes an astronaut while a Porsche 911 seems ready to leave the road to join space. Around it, references to NASA, road signage, rocket, Earth and details inspired by the space universe build a dense, colorful scene, between Pop Art, automotive and watchmaking culture. The very form of the work takes up the codes of a large chronograph watch: black tachymeter-style bezel, raised index, hands and dial fully reimagined by SKE. A clear nod to Omega’s history and the lunar conquest, here deflected into a more pop and contemporary universe. Road to Space thus plays with several objects of desire that have become cult: the watch, the Porsche, Snoopy, and space exploration. References drawn from different universes come together in a single piece, like a condensed collage of memories, speed, and dream.
