Side table - Wood - Barly Twist pedestal

This piece of furniture is a vintage or antique wooden plant stand (also known as a pied de stalle or pedestal). The object is characterized by an ornately decorated, hand-turned column—a style often described as a barley twist or spiral foot. Such stands were commonly produced in Belgium and France from the mid-20th century (often the 1950s and 1960s) from quality woods such as oak or walnut. They are specifically designed as decorative supports for items such as houseplants, vases, sculptures, or artworks.
