Seraphinite is quarried almost exclusively near Lake Baikal, in eastern Siberia. In this isolated and pristine region, clinochlore has formed for millions of years within the deep rocks. The first Russian collectors of the 19th century readily set it in court jewelry, drawn by its changing reflections that no other green stone could imitate. In lithotherapy, seraphinite is associated with the heart chakra.
