Offered is an elegant and highly detailed A1-size poster featuring the Lancia D50 from 1954, one of the most innovative and historically significant Grand Prix racing cars of the 1950s. This artwork celebrates its distinctive appearance, advanced engineering, and important place in the early history of Formula One. Description This A1-format poster presents a refined technical-style illustration of the Lancia D50, displayed in multiple views including front, rear, side, and top perspectives. Inspired by classic engineering blueprints, the composition combines aesthetic sophistication with authentic technical detail. The design includes: Accurate proportions and dimensional layout Multiple perspectives highlighting the open-wheel bodywork, compact proportions, and distinctive side-mounted fuel tanks Clean technical annotations and specification panel Vintage-inspired background enhancing the historical atmosphere Poster size: A1 (594 × 841 mm) Design & Aesthetic Executed in a minimalist and sophisticated style, the poster features crisp linework, harmonious composition, and carefully presented engineering details. The muted vintage color palette and lightly aged paper texture create an authentic period atmosphere suitable for both modern and classic interiors. Subject Significance Designed under the direction of legendary engineer Vittorio Jano, the Lancia D50 was created for the 2.5-litre Formula One regulations introduced in 1954. It featured a compact naturally aspirated V8 engine and an unconventional layout developed to improve weight distribution, balance, and overall performance. Its most recognisable feature was the pair of external pannier-style fuel tanks positioned between the front and rear wheels. This arrangement helped reduce the changes in weight distribution that normally occurred as fuel was consumed during a race. The D50 also used its engine as a stressed structural component and featured a transaxle layout, demonstrating Lancia’s highly ambitious and technically advanced approach to Grand Prix racing. The D50 made its Formula One World Championship debut at the 1954 Spanish Grand Prix with Alberto Ascari, immediately demonstrating its speed by securing pole position and setting the fastest lap. After Lancia withdrew from motor racing in 1955, the cars and technical equipment were transferred to Ferrari. A developed version, commonly known as the Lancia-Ferrari D50, helped Juan Manuel Fangio win the 1956 Formula One World Championship. Condition Excellent visual condition Crisp print quality with fine detailing No visible defects (adjust if necessary) Lot Details Lot size: 1 poster Size: A1 Theme: Historic motorsport / technical illustration Subject: Lancia D50 — 1954 Collector’s Appeal This poster is an ideal collectible for Lancia enthusiasts, Formula One fans, motorsport historians, and admirers of innovative racing machinery. It serves perfectly as a sophisticated decorative centerpiece for a home, office, garage, studio, or showroom, combining elegant technical artwork with the legacy of one of the most distinctive and advanced Grand Prix cars of its era.
