A0000006371 Item: SHEAFFER FOUNTAIN PEN, pearly gray striped celluloid with silver hardware and gold nib Reference / Edition: Sheaffer Craftsman (lever-fill series, narrow wire-like band on the cap) Length: 12.8 cm Diameter: 1.1 cm Nib: F Period: 1940s (approx. 1945-1949) Materials: Body and cap in striped celluloid (striated) in pearl/gray with black veining, dark section with threading, smooth clip engraved "SHEAFFER'S" and narrow wire-like band in a silver/chrome finish, nib in gold tone with engraving "SHEAFFER'S ... USA". Lever-fill system integrated laterally into the barrel. Condition: Good state of preservation for its age. The celluloid preserves brightness and the striation is clear, with no cracks or visible fissures; slight signs of use and minor wear of the polish on the body. The silver hardware shows pinpoint oxidation and loss of shine, especially on the clip, cap band, and the filling lever. The cap engraving remains perfectly legible. Nib clean, aligned and without apparent deformations. The functioning of the filling system has not been verified. Inclusions: Only the loose piece; no box or papers discernible in the photos.
