Seiko - 7546-7020 - Type II Green Gradient - No reserve...

This Seiko Type II is a striking example of 1970s Japanese quartz design, showcasing a dynamically vertical two-tone gradient dial that’s incredibly appealing. The Type II line was instrumental in popularizing quartz technology, offering bold aesthetics and reliable performance. This particular model stands out for its cushion/oval case with prominent front brushing and a hypnotic green-toned dial, perfectly capturing the experimental and confident style of the era. It represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a visually impactful and historically significant piece from Seiko’s quartz legacy. Brand: Seiko Model: Type II Reference: 7546-7020 Serial number: 700809 Movement: Quartz Caliber 7546 Dial: Vertical gradient dial in green shades with a brushed steel surface. No oxidation or notable stains. Case size: 36 x 42 mm Case material: Stainless steel Year of production: 1977 Condition: Excellent vintage condition with sharp case lines and a dial in very good condition. Dial and hands The dial of this Seiko Type II is truly standout, featuring a vertical gradient pattern that transitions from a dark green on the sides to a bright light green in the center. The surface has fine vertical brushing that catches the light beautifully, enhancing the two-tone effect. The applied, faceted hour markers in gold harmonize with the baton-style hands (also gold), which retain very clean white lume. The applied logos of "SEIKO QUARTZ" and the quartz crystal / Type II symbol are crisp and well defined. A gold-framed day-date window sits at the three o’clock position, showing days in English and Kanji. The dial is exceptionally well preserved, offering a notably clean and vibrant appearance. Case and crystal The stainless steel case features a softly curved cushion shape, characterized by a pronounced circular/satin brushing on the front of the case and polished edges. The case lines remain sharp and well preserved. Only light, superficial signs of wear are present, with no deep dents. The flat crystal is clear and allows an unobstructed view of the impressive dial. The crown is integrated at the three o’clock position. Movement The watch runs on the Seiko 7546 quartz movement, a robust, precise, and historically important caliber in Seiko’s quartz catalog. The screw-down back is engraved with crisp, legible markings, including reference 7546-7020 and serial number 700809, placing its production date in October 1977. Strap The watch comes fitted with an original Seiko stainless steel bracelet with a signed clasp. It features a multi-link brushed finish that perfectly complements the case. It is in excellent aesthetic and functional condition, with the end link engraved with reference "XBA 1720". Condition This Seiko Type II is in excellent vintage condition. The case retains its original shapes and factory-brushed finishes with only minor signs of use. The highlight is the dial, which is impeccably preserved, maintaining its vivid colors and sharp imprint. The hands, the gold indices, and the original Seiko bracelet complete an exceptionally preserved set. Dimensions Case size: 36 mm (excluding crown) Lug to lug: approximately 42 mm Suitable for a wrist circumference of up to approximately 19–20 cm using the extension. About 18 cm without it. Notes The combination of the case finish and the striking green gradient dial with gold detailing makes this Type II 7546-7020 a highly sought-after piece for vintage Seiko collectors. Its superb condition affords a noticeable presence on the wrist.
