Sea Snail Sea shell - S-601 TONNA AMPULLACEA (No reserve price)

Beautiful, large shell of Tonna Ampullacea - a species of large sea snail, a marine mollusk from the family Tonnidae. The shell has a globular shape, resembling an ampoule or a globular bottle (hence the name “ampullacea”). It grows up to 20–25 cm in length, but due to its thin walls it is very light. Surface - smooth, thin and fragile, with visible delicate spiral lines. Aperture (opening): very wide, occupying a substantial part of the shell; the edge is thin and sharp. Coloration: usually light brown, yellowish-gray, or cream, with darker streaks and speckles; the interior of the aperture is white or slightly pinkish. Dimensions - 115/150/180 mm. Highly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
