Sea Snail Sea shell - S-588 TURBO CRASSUS (No reserve price)

Beautiful Turbo Crassus shell — the common name crass turban — is a species of sea snail in the family Turbinidae, i.e., turbans. Large, heavy, solid, non-perforated shell has an oval-conical shape. Its coloration is dirty white or greenish, speckled with angular, alternating dark or brown and light spots on broad, flat, spiral ribs. The fissures are narrow, superficial, and whitish. Six whorls are convex, with more or less protruding shoulders above. The ribs are worn around the axis. The aperture is white inside and measures more than half the length of the shell. It is oval, curved backward, and at the spur. Its edges are about greenish, not striated. The columella is thickened and flaring at the base, hardened toward the rear. Dimensions — 55/80/100 mm. The shell is damaged, as seen in the photos. I highly recommend it to collectors and interior decorators.
